From breaking world records to surviving a devastating plane crash, Ryan Campbell’s life is a testament to the power of resilience, mindset, and transformation.

At just 19, Ryan made history as the youngest person to fly solo around the world, gaining international acclaim and becoming one of Australia’s 50 Great Explorers. But at 21, his life changed in an instant when a plane crash left him a complete paraplegic. Told he may never walk again, Ryan refused to give in. With unrelenting determination, he defied the odds, learning to walk—and eventually fly—again.

Ryan’s extraordinary journey led him to develop the Mindset Toolbox and his 3-Step Checklist to Navigating Change—practical, actionable tools that help individuals and organizations not only overcome adversity, but use it as a springboard for growth.

Leah Rothstein
Rise & Refocus Keynote

Leah Rothstein is the co-author of JUST ACTION: How to Challenge Segregation Enacted Under the Color of Law that describes how local community groups can redress the wrongs of segregation. She also writes a regular column to which you can subscribe for free at JustAction.substack.com. 

Leah has worked on public policy and community change, from the grassroots to the halls of government. She led research on reforming community corrections policy and practice to be focused on rehabilitation, not punishment. She has been a consultant to nonprofit housing developers, cities and counties, redevelopment agencies, and private firms on community development and affordable housing policy, practice, and finance.

Her policy work is informed by her years as a community organizer and labor organizer, working on issues such as housing, environmental justice, workplace safety, and youth leadership.
